Picked up 107 rolls of halves, 118 rolls of nickels, and 50 rolls of pennies. I'm ready for the bama game tomorrow. I met a teller who said she would be willing to order me a thousand dollar box of halves. I'm gonna place the order this afternoon.
I used google earth to plot my route today. You plug in the name of the banks and they show up on a map. Cool. Happy sorting everybody!

I sorted through a total of 120 rolls of halves today. I got ONE 66. I did get two interesting rolls however. The first, had 18 - 2002's, 6 minted d and 12 minted p. The second roll, had all 20 - 2002's, with half minted d and half p. I see where others are keeping these due to their low mintage. The coins are close to mint state, (I guess they should considering they are so new) does anyone know what the value of these are?
PS: I meant to say that on both the 2002 rolls there was a hand written "x" on the roll. The same was true for that roll of 64's I found a few weeks ago. I got theories but that's all.

in my case, the ''x'' means they have been gone through, and no keepers. found the same 'brand' at three banks. so must be the person was 'dumping' them. i go so far as to put my initals on the ones i turn in. though i suspect they go right to the bags going to the 'central counting area' down in phoenix.
last winter in tucson, i lucked into 300$ at one bank. walked out. took one look and saw several labeled 65.66.67.68.69/ yeahhhh. with a few walkers, bens and 64's in the ones written on '' mixed'.

I use a distinctive green marker to mark my dumps with a big "S" for "Sorted" or "Sh_t" or "Steel" or "Skunk for you" depending on your preferance. That has saved me a few times now from rehandling rolls. Generally in my area rolled coin stays in rolls and gets transfered from bank to bank as required. So sometimes my dumps move themselves to my source banks.
I also ended up with most of a box of marked Nickels from another nearby sorter - I knew they hit the roll end in a red ink pad. I just dumped those right away. |

| I figured it was somebody who had fallen on hard times and they rolled up the halves they had collected, and then marked the ones they would turn in last.......those most valuable to them. |
