So 50 boxes into this hobby and I've finally gotten some pure copper rolls. I picked up a box of mixed customer wrapped rolls this morning and the first one I opened is all copper and 30 something wheats. I picked out and sorted all the rolls with that same wrapper. Out of 10 rolls there were:
171 - Coppers (59-81) 6 - Foreign 1 - Dime 228 - Wheats 94 - Zinc
That's 80% copper! Not bad huh. I'm thinking of going back to the bank to see if there's more of them.

You happened to be in the right place at the right time. What ever you did, keep doing it (sometimes that includes a special dance, feathers, or secret unmentionable actions). Hustle back to that institution ASAP and see if good fortune will strike you again. If no joy, try the next closest financial institution you can see from their parking lot. If you find, or get struck out of the clear blue by good luck, push it! |

| These were obviously some pennies someone had laying around for a long time. I would be checking those dates. (After I got back from the bank) |

| One of my pick ups of CWRs the other day has rolls sorted by dates so far. I mixed the CWR pick-ups of a dozen banks so it will be some time to see how many rolls were pure copper, but so far I have opened a roll of all 1971, a roll of all 1974, a roll of all 1964 and maybe another. I have over $200 of CWRs to sort and was numbed to these rolls once I had a pile of pennies already spread out on my table. I first look for wheat and Canadians when I open a roll. Having rolls of pure copper are nice. I can not wait til I see what else are in these CWRs. Already had one roll with 50 dimes in it instead of pennies. Bank people or customer did not pay attention because teller had that roll in with other penny rolls. |

| People are turning in lots of rolled coins these days so don't be surprised to see lots of copper, wheats and even Indians in some of our rolls. I've been getting record wheat percentages out of Brinks rolls lately. |
When my wife got after me it sounded like "Blah,Blah,Blah", but now it sounds like "Clink,Clink,Clink". Its amazing what that Ryedale can do for a hounded husband. |

| I got a nice find today of 8 rolls that were 95% wheat or canadian kings. I think I got a total of 42 Kings and 3 hundred + wheats. |

Way to go coppernicus! I'd be happy if I could come close to doing 1/4th that well. I guess I'll just have to sort more & faster. |
