I got a call from my dealer and just bought 14 ten ounce silver bars at $14.85 per ounce or a total of $2079 for 140 ounces. That $14.85 is $3.45 per ounce over spot but then too they are currently paying about $1.50 per ounce when people sell. I like those ten ounce bars and now I can get my mind back on my work and off PMs for a while.

Very nice...but are you interested in selling any? :)

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

I just got back from my coin shop. Picked up the 1984 Olympic Coin Set, for 470, and for the heck of it, he let me trade 2silver quarters for the Washington half dollars com's proof. So I decided to take 20 of them.

I picked up those 14 ten ounce silver bars today after work. I thought some of you may be interested in the break-down as to what kind of bars they were. 8 were Engelhard, 6 of those were the ones with the big E on them and the other 2 have Eagles on them.. 2 were Johnson Matthey. One was a a Pan American Silver Corp bar. One says Minted From U.S. Strategic Stockpile Silver formerely stored at U.S. Assay Office San Fransisco with an overlaping cresent moons logo 1981, and on the back .999 silver ten troy ounces. One is a Northwest Territorial Mint bar (I guess they really do deliver at their orders sooner or later) The last one is a Silver Town bar with a serial number on it.

New to the forums...but I reentered the world of silver after buying 100/ 1 oz silver Buffalo rounds from APMEX. Bars are almost non extsitant for a decent price. Anyways I bought at $14.47/oz which seems like a good price????

I was looking at all my previous orders from APMEX and saw that I bought 42 oz of APMEX/ Engelhard bars for $10.20 and in 2007 bought 50 @ around $12/ounce. How I wish to go back to those times. Ive already enjoyed many of the posts here and hopefully I can participate more

Welcome rodzm. Not too long ago if silver's spot price was near $11.00 and someone paid $14.00 + for bullion silver I would have thought them to be rather foolish. In today's market I would consider them to be lucky.

Yeah neither do I. I would say they were up for less than 1 hour and next thing you know they are gone. It shocked the hell out of me because Ive been checking APMEX all day and was shocked to see 10 oz bars

I literaly posted the link only minutes after noticing it on ther website. Yesterday they didnt have them and up until a couple of hours ago they didnt have them and suddenly they appeared on their website

Is it possible they sold out that fast within less than a few hours???

They were there about an hour ago--now they are gone...wow...it seems like in this market you have to decide AHEAD of time what you want and how much you are willing to spend, so that when it shows up you can grab it--no time to deliberate about it...they did look like nice bars though

I thought I was just seeing things but they were up for less than 1 hour I think. I had 2 bars in my cart but couldnt complete the checkout due to funds. Dammit...you almost have to check every minute to get anything decent. Im still rather happy about my purchase of 100/ 1 oz Buffalo rounds that they have. Just wish I wouldve waited longer and gotten 10/ 10 oz bars instead

I clicked on the link shortly after it was posted and they were there, but they didn't last long. I should have checked to see how many they had...

Just curious, how big are 100-oz. silver bars, in terms of measurements? I'm just trying to wrap my brain around storage dimensions IF I ever find a 100-oz. bar that doesn't have an outrageous premium.

You have to be quick on APMEX these days. I've gone through the checkout and by the time I hit "Finish" my cart was empty. HH Mark
