Check out the $100 premium on this one ounce palladium bar:

That's insane. What's the markup on eBay right now? Or are there any Pd bars available?

By the way, Ant, what program did you use to make that screenshot?

Hi all,

Apmex is really getting out of hand with some stuff. They want almost a $100 premium on AGE's. Sick!!

Things are very, very bad, but I can't help but think that some of this PM mania is a little blown out of proportion. I recall that prior to Y2K, $1000 bags of 90% were selling for almost DOUBLe the silver value. Then, you couldn't even GIVE them away on Jan. 2, 2000.

What's gonna happen????????????????????????????????????????????????

wags

Only when they CAN'T have it, ......THEN they'll want it.

I love Cents. If you get an UNC box, you win. If you get a regular circ. box, you win. If you get a zinc box, you don't lose....so you still win.

I think that we are going to see a near zero fed interest rate and people scrambling to raise cash. As much as precious metals represent thousand of years of cumulative human social pecking order norms, my gut feeling is that many people will be trying to find ways to pay for gas, food, rent, and usual overhead but without the backstop of a loose credit spigot. They will need cash and spend much less discretionary income.I think we will be hosed on precious metals as a means to preserve capital. People are willing to have 0% return on bonds now just as long as they locked their free cash into something guaranteed. I can only see patient and deep pocketed people willing to collect precious metals if things really get bad. And they will offer desperate sellers much below any spot price. I can only hope that silver coins will be recognized as a healthy barterable hedge in case I get tapped out of free cash flow, knock wood.

Am I to assume they pay a similar premium if you sell back to them?

So now is NOT a good buying time?

I was thinking the opposite. I was thinking of maybe 10oz of Palladium Maples from Monex. And maybe 2 oz gold, and some silver.

Why is it a bad time now?

If buying is a bad now, is selling good?

Or are you thinking the buying time will be when everyone is strapped for cash and will be desperate to part with their metals to pay bills?
