I agree the capital one seems to be more appealing. Why did they need so many designs, it just does not make sense. Unfortunatly you can bet the Mint will hype them all up to the hilt and probably mint a zillon of them and of course charge an over the top price for proof versions.
I am waiting for the steel pennies to be minted. The zinc ones are just too flimsy and degraded at times when I find them. Let's have a penny with some density to it.

All the designs seemed really nice to me.
I think that with the state quarters such a success the Mint is now trying to replicate that success with everything else (different nickel designs a few years ago, presidential dollar coins, and now different penny designs)
