and I'm guessing these guys wouldn't sell below melt value, but wondered what you guys thought:

Truthfully, stuff like this hadn't been on my radar because I've only been thinking inside the (Brinks) box. But I'd guess that these sinks don't weigh enough to make them worth scrapping? Or are there people out there selling sinks and other copper accessories way below melt value and I just haven't found them yet?

The only place I've been able to find copper below, or even near, melt is at yard sales.

Are you throwing that out?

I looked quickly, and saw the cheapest sinks were $300-$350. For those sinks to be worth more than scrap value, they'd have to weigh >100 pounds. Think about how heavy 100# really is, then look at those sinks. Doesn't look likely.

I'm having the same problem finding silver and gold below melt value also.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
