I went scrounging through the junk in the yard of a newly foreclosed bank owned house today, and found this bowl.

It took some soaking in toilet bowl cleaner, and then a scrubbing with an SOS pad just to get it semi presentable. It weighs 6.5 ounces which gives it a theoretical melt value of about $1.50. I was going to throw it in the scrap barrel, but after seeing if it would clean up first, I'm kinda liking it.

I also found this,

The hair, wings and scarf on this candle holder are Cu, the rest is brass.

It has an apprentice,

I was going to scalp them and clip their wings, but I might keep them as good luck charms while sorting. They can maybe stand off to the side while I'm sorting and bring me good fortune.

Nice finds. If those copper angels bring you Indians, please let me know.

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Those all are kinda cool. I'd keep them.

Plain and simple.

Definitely keep the bowl! Have you priced any in the stores? They have really gotten expensive (and are perfect for whipping up egg whites, if you do much cooking).

Good find!
