How long until the world runs out of key metals? 
The article at the link below discusses the idea that if most metals continued to be used at current rates, that all known reserves will eventually be depleted.

A few results of their analysis:
Indium could run out in 13 yrs Silver in 29 yrs Lead in 42 yrs Gold in 45 yrs Zinc in 46 yrs
They admit that their analysis is simple-minded, with no considerations for the effect of price or changes in technology. But it's another interesting data point supporting the idea that the world's current level of growth, with its associated resource use, is likely not sustainable.
