I have a couple pallets full of electronics (mostly electric fence energizers) that I have been asked to get rid of.
I was wondering if anyone has a link showing what i should look for to scrap. They are primarily circuit boards, transformers and capacitors.
Worth doing?

Your circuit boards may be. transformers contain a fair amount of copper. and certain capacitors contain tantalum, very in-demand right now!
Goldrefiningforum.com goes into detail on the PM's contained in various electronic scrap and has information on refining said scrap if you feel like trying the process. Goldsilverpro is a very knowledgeable member there and also here. |

| Fastcar, the transformers are definitely worth scrapping. Around here they are going for about .38 cents a pound. You maybe able to sell the circuit boards at a scrap yard also, around here they have to be from computers (.65/pound). I'm not sure about the capacitors. As for refining, etc. Definitely scrap the transformers, as is, no work involved. |

| If the circuit boards have any silver or gold contacts you could probably sell them on eBay. I collected about 40 lbs of them from old computers, fax machines, phones, etc. I scrapped out all the steel cases, copper wiring, and aluminum drive frames and sold the whole lot of circuit boards on eBay for about $100. Granted these were from older computers and had lots of exposed silver and gold contacts, so your mileage may vary. |
