I've had a bit of a cash burp this week with some unexpected expenses that have hit, so today I'd anticipated picking up only $200 in pennies from a bank where today was my first pickup, but the vault teller told me that the agreement was for me to pick up the entire $400 today--not $200 today and $200 on Monday. So I had to borrow $200 from my primary checking account to get the rest of the pennies from that branch (I made another $400 pickup at another bank earlier today). Well, I've got to make a $200 zinc deposit by Monday to cover my student loan payment draft that comes out Monday, but I'm wondering if I should dump the zincs at a branch of my primary checking bank (a branch I've never been to is about three miles away) or if I should dump at my primary dump branch two days earlier than usual and just apologize for the early dump? I'm inclined to dump at the branch I haven't been to before because it will be easy for me to avoid from now on and the money will go right into the account that my student loan payment is drawn from--even thought it might be a "burden" for that branch to receive my deposit. Any thoughts or advice?
If you commit to picking up a preorder, always make sure you are there on the day agreed and pick up the entire order. Nothing will get you cut off faster than not picking your entire order up on time.
For dumping zincs to cover cash shortages $200 is not really all that big of a dump. But to be on the safe side you might break it into 2 $100 dumps and drop one at that other branch of your primary bank and one at a branch of the same bank in the next town.. maybe 7 miles away. You can guage thier reaction when you dump the first $100, and if things are going well you might ask if it is OK for you to deposit 4 more boxes.. that way you don't have to make the trip to the next branch of the same bank. You should also probably do your deposits on Saturday instead of Monday to make sure there are no problems with them debiting your account before they credit it. For a $100 dump you don't even need a merchant teller if one is unavailable and the regular teller will have sympathy for you when you tell her how you had to roll up all those pennies just so you could make sure there were sufficient funds in your account to cover your student loan payment.
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Maybe this will be my first occasion to bring in a bag of Hershey's Kisses to help quell the stress I'm inflicting.
Better be a LARGE bag....
