a few years ago I switched banks because they started charging me TEN CENTS per ROLL to get change from them.
Last month my new bank started charging, calling around it seems ALL BANKS do this now! OUCH
OTOH I stop by banks randomly (where I'm not known as a business person who needs change) and buy boxes of change and they do NOT charge me. guess they only want to do it if they can put it on your statement at months end instead of telling me to my face
I'm worried about my dump bank, and i know they though about kicking me out,or charge me but it is my parents main bank and there is a lot of money in it so I don't think they are going to but who knows.
You likely don't want to be buying as a business because the bank will want to charge for coin. You want to say you are a collector - maybe occasionally flash your book of cool old pennies you have been collecting. I've had some luck suggesting they can off load pennies they would need to ship otherwise. Look for banks that serve mostly individuals, not businesses, to get lots of CWR.
