I went yard saling today looking for copper and brass that I can profit on. In addition to 15-20lbs of brass I found a small sewing storage kit with some misc. junk in it. I took it home thinking my daughter might like it. Well, inside were a few mismatched earrings and one is marked 14kt! Not to bad in an item marked $0.50!
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams
Nice find...I have always shied away from the jewelry at garage sales/rummage sales/flea markets as I really dont know what to look for. But the guy at the local coin shop told me about a client who found something for a buck or two and turned around and sold it for something like $180 to the coin shop as scrap. I need to start looking and if anyone asks I will say it's for the g/f.
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.
