I bought 4 rolls of pennies from a local store here (all they could spare) and didnt find one copper.
These were in the same clear plastic rolls that I get them in from the bank.
There were coins from 1982 and up. I weighed the 82's and they weren't coppers either.
Im pretty sure this store would get their coins from a bank so is that pretty odd or what?

You found my dump bank!
Actually, those rolls come from the bank.. the bank is supplied by Brinks.. my dump bank sends and receives coins from Brinks.. so it could happen. Look for an "H" engraved in the obverse field. It is not all that odd. Many of us have gotten entire dud boxes like that.. I once got an entire shipment of 24 dud boxes.. that was kinda rough. A few weeks later these banks that gave me duds were all giving me regular boxes again. |

Thats weird how that works though...
They mix all pennies together from several places then count and roll...
So the only way to get this mix of coins (82+ with no coppers) would have to be by getting someones dump.
So then Brinks would of had to only run those coins when they counted and wrapped at that particular time.
If Im understanding how it all works correctly.

Since Bank of America orders pennies from HCBTT, maybe he should call Brinks and make an offer.
The sorted pennies are lighter, which would save Brinks on fuel, a good thing with these gas prices. Maybe hoarding is good for the environment after all.
On the flip side, the first full box I opened here in Canada seems to be 99% copper. Just the occasional steel penny mixed in to the rolls. If someone had that box sitting in a vault for 15+ years there would be zero steel, so that is not the explanation. Maybe someone dumped a loose hoard and threw in some modern pennies from thier pocket when they rolled it up? |

Several months back I reported that all the Brinks boxes i.e. the clear plastic rolls I found appeared to be searched with no copper. I checked it again last week and got a box and got the same result i.e. no copper! I don’t know who is rolling for Brinks but obviously there is a large commercial operation out there pulling the coppers out if we are all experiencing boxes with no coppers in them. Does anyone know who rolls for Brinks???? Email me I’d like to know! |

So are all Brinks pennies going to always be in the clear plastic rolls?
Which companies are those that roll in paper? |

I get duds from Brinks boxes quite frequently. Lately there are fewer but in Feb.- March it got to be 100% skunks for Brinks. |

Several of us around the country had a similar experience about the same time. I wonder if it was a test program to see how fast they could remove the copper if there is a change in the composition or a lifting of the melt ban. They may have shut down temporarily because it was not comercially viable at this time. |

By me, there is N.F. String and Son. They are based in Harrisburg, PA |

N.F. String & Son does not roll the coin.. they just sell the paper. I roll my zinc rejects in N.F. String & Son paper. |
