Metals - Copper rises as other commodities soar, Chinese imports up mth-on-mth

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Copper rose in early trade, erasing some of yesterday's losses, as buyers fretted over tightening stockpiles and as Chinese imports for April edged up from the previous month.
Strength in other commodities such as gold and oil is also pulling the red metal higher in the short term as it is boosting funds' interest in the asset class as a whole, analysts said.
