Is it worth saving these when you are sorting for copper? I have been finding several that could be MS-67 or above. It seems to me not worth it considering since the mintage is at least 2 billion per year.

Ok here is a question. Last Friday I got 7 Brinks boxes that are loaded with 2008 Ds. They are obviously uncirculated and running about 50% per roll. Because of the dilution the boxes are only maybe 10% copper. So the question is what should I do with the boxes? Also these are probably the only 2008 D uncirculateds that I will find, since I usually only see 2008 P uncirculateds.
1. Return them unsearched to the bank 2. Crank them through the Ryedale and return all of the zincs 3. Hand sort out the 2008 Ds with the hopes that someone, sometime will want to buy bags of loose 2008 D uncirculateds |

I pretty much never get new pennies mixed in with my Brinks rolls.
If you had a proper wrapping machine you could roll your own.
I think there might be a market for a few loose bags.. just depends on if you want to sort them out or not.
You should at least pull out the copper.. even 10% is worthwhile since you have the equipment to properly sort them. Whatever you decide to do, these should be the first ones you sort. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

At this point, I would be happy with a counting machine and a few cloth bags so I could package them up properly. I think that I will take a stab at sorting out an even $50 or $75 worth and quit after that. |

If you were closer I would loan you one of my spare counters. You should just buy one.. they don't cost that much.
You might also check with your local coin dealer. Chances are that he might be interested in a couple of bags.. and I bet he has a proper counting machine you could use at the shop. |

| If you have the time I would hand sort them and put the 08's aside. And like the wet cat said a dealer may have some interest in them and might actually be able to trade for something you want and get a little more for them. |
