Is there much scrap value in a full size washing machine? I don't want to burn a gallon of gas to go get it if I'm only going to get a few bucks in scrap.

That's about right. I'll always take one if I run across it.

Are you throwing that out?

Kurr,

Good point. How do you recover the silver though? I have heard that you can do the same thing with keyboards...underneath the keys is a mylar strip with silver traces. Anyone have an idea on how to get the silver out?

Thanks!
Tom

Take this job and shove it. I don't want to work here no more...

Ive read i think you can get a small tool and "pull" em, or use a torch and melt the mylar and pour off the resin till you get the mass down, then either sell to a refiner when you have enough or process yourself. Processing requires a pricey and, i think, somewhat regulated acid.

**Edit** If you get enough you could ebay em as scrap too! If your comfortable with acid refining techniques and chemistry i can send point ya in a good direction.
