Earlier this week I got a 1891 Indian from a $25 paper roll penny box. That alone was amazing within itself.
But today I received my $100 order from from my local Credit Union and on the 3rd box I get a 1917,1929,1916-D, and a 1914-S (Worth $10 and which I thought it was a Denver).
BUT not even halfway through this box and I get a 1864 Indian Penny!!!
I checked it out and its a regular version (theres 3 kinds) and is worth $6. Thats 2 Indians in 3 Days!
So I have found 3 Indians since I started in Sept. going through about $100 a week. Who knows what may be in the other half of the box.
Just very excited, cheers!

Congrats! That ties my oldest found. I found an 1864 lat year. I think the PC term is Feathered Liberty.. but nobody calls them that.
The average is about 1 per 100,000 coins sorted.. but experience varies widely. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |

***** Thats 2 Indians in 3 Days! *****
That just makes me sick, as after about a year of this I still have not found the elusive Feathered Liberty in circulation. But, congratulations on your finds. It must be very exciting. |

Wow that's some pretty cool finds there...congrats. I have gone through 54500 cents and my oldest find is a 1911 Wheat cent. I have a box sitting here waiting for me to go through it so that's on my to do list this weekend. The last box was kind of week, so we'll see if this one is better. |

Thanks for the responses. It goes to show that there is still some treasures to be found in thoses boxes you order.
The other half of the box yielded 7 common wheats and a 1919-S. But still it was a good time and a amazing run with luck. It seems like if your a hand sorter you find these goodies easier.

Great find on the two in a single order Robarons, that must have come from someone's old penny stash.
$60K in pennies in a year-and-a-half?
Wow. Just wow.
How much copper have you saved by now Art?
I'm not quite at 400 lbs yet, but I'm steady working towards my first ton.
No Indian Heads yet, although I just started today doing a resort of my zinc rejects (using a zinc standard) from the first sort using a copper standard.
Maybe I'll start getting lucky?
