Anyone ever succumbed to the urge to take 50 of the nastiest, dirtiest, most corroded, discolored, and filthy pennies you can find and make one roll out of them?

The ugliest penny roll?

Maybe spend it at a merchant that has given you poor service in the past?

Sounds kinda mean, but as long as we aren't deliberately messing up the pennies ourselves we're just spending money, right?

Heh heh.

Thought I might try this at the gas station with my next fill up. Better be careful of retaliation though. Pennies and UGLY ones at that could backfire.

Ant,
I see you love ugly pennies. Maybe everybody that posts on this site could send you some. Do you have a limit?

I think I got that roll! Sometimes I get a solid roll of what I call "pond pennies" These are the nastiest, ugliest green pennies you could find. If you run them through the Ryedale they will jam it. They will also jam up counting and wrapping machines. You really don't want to add such ugly pennies to your hoard and contaminate it. I just hand roll them and spend them.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

I'll make sure and try to week out the nasty pennies before they go into the Ryedale!

Doh!

Substitute some weed for my week and I'll be ok, yes?

Or maybe I'll just add a "t" and try to make the process work better.

heh.

I already do that, and I mark the rolls as Cu-. These rolls would be sold first.

Ryedale tip:

If are getting your pennies from Brink's (in clear wrappers), glance at each roll before you open it. If there is a gap between any of the pennies, there is either a bent penny or a what I call a "gum" penny in the roll (has something stuck to it usually gum or some other candy). Try and weed out the penny that is causing the gap in the roll before it goes into the Ryedale and you will save yourself a jam.
