I was wondering what are the % of copper pennies you are pulling out of Canada. I was thinking of taking a trip up there and bringin my rydale. Also what are your % of nickles you are getting as well.

I am doing well in nickels, but find it is dependent on where you are. If you go to Canada for nickels, you want to go to banks in old neighbourhoods in large cities--that gives you the best chance of finding populations of old hoarded coins. If you buy rolls of coins from the centre of large cities, expect to get lots of 2008s. I appreciate that as a visitor you may not know the demographics of any particular neighbourhood, so you want to go to banks in the first neighbourhoods of single family homes just outside downtown. Pennies should be higher than 50%, for nickels, about 20% will be Ni, about 50% will be CuNi.

PS Have a good trip. And don't go to the TD bank at Central Parkway West and Burnhamthorpe in Mississauga. That is my dump bank.

There shouldn't be unless it is more than $10,000. But if you are going to move a large amount you might want to get legal advice first in case the authorities have decided that this is the newest way to fund terrorism.
