i hope this survey also include the Canadian cents :

i estimated that i have about 100-120 pounds of canadian copper cents, given the average of a canadian copper cent is about 2.75 grams, i have about 160-170 canadian dollars worth of copper cents

I'm mostly collecting canadian nickels, but I did buy one box of pennies once and it was about 50% coppers, which i kept. I now sort out the coppers in my day-to-day change and in the till at work, and add them to that box, but haven't bought any boxes since then.

just a note:
my 2.75 gram/penny guesstimate is in no way exact, or even scientific

as of now, i have 22000 canada pure nickels, evenly, and almost completely fill up 10 2-L plastic pop bottles(each weighs 22 pounds, 10 kgs), and some canadian 98% copper pennies, i will let my brother and sister to help me store them;

on Oct 15th, i will go back to Hong Kong to work for a period of time(i don't know how long yet), so, maybe by the time i come back, nickels and copper cents are being traded by coin dealers just like what junk silver coins are being traded right now

i hope there is still some pure nickels for me to be picked out when i come back in years' time, until then, good luck with all your hoardings

i checked with the metal contents in Hong Kong's coins, they are still far from worthy of being hoarded, so i can concentrate on my day job there
