I really enjoyed that video. I made a visit to the Bingham Mine last year. It is huge. The video shows copper production before the “modernization” of the 1980’s. It really is a good video.

This is the world’s largest open pit mine, and I think they told us that the Bingham Mine had produced 11% of all the worlds copper, but the supply of copper in the mine will run out about 2015. Sorry I can’t confirm these reports.

Just another reason to hang onto those copper cents.

Awake, O kings of the earth! Come ye, O, come ye, with your gold and your silver, to the help of my people, to the house of the daughters of Zion, to the help of the people of the God of this Land even Jesus Christ.

Thanks! I love old clips like that. The magnitude of some of these operations is hard for me to really get my mind around. What people were able to do 50, 100, 150 years ago is pretty amazing. Of course, we always think that everyone back then was primitive. I've been going through some chemistry books from Project Gutenberg that were written before 1900. It is simply amazing to me what those guys were able to do with the tools/concepts they had then...

Where can I get some of those 500 pound bars? Not the most attractive bars I ever saw. Great Video.

We need to remember, its not only the demand that will drive up the prices in the future, its also the supply or lack of.
