Thanks for the find Ardent Listener, though I have learned that for every bear analyst warning of impending doom there is usually a bull analyst finding cause for investment opportunities.

Will copper go up, down, or sideways?
The answer is-
YES,
all of the above.

As to when it will go up down or sideways is anybody's guess. You might as well toss a coin to decide when the market will do its thing.
(Just make sure you toss a copper coin for luck.)

True, that copper's value can very well - go down. But if the dollar has a greater decrease in value than copper, which can very well happen, then the price of copper will be up in terms of dollars, but it's value will still be down.

We seem to hear the the warning of the doom or copper prices about ever 9 months around here yet it just doesn't seem to happen. We did see major corrections at times and of course we saw a big correction for nickel that has thus far stuck around.

I would expect that during a recession copper prices will far but recession don't last forever. In addition, as Non-wiseman said, will the dollar fall faster than the demand for copper?

Some of you may notice that I post both bullish and bearish articles about copper and the other metals. I do so because I try to be "Fair and balanced" with my posts so you can decide.

Copper will remain a sound investment. While I predict its floor as being somewhere around $2.25 lb. in the years to come. Long-term prices [completely dependent upon a future global economy that is extremely robust (a public CIA document reveals that this is a very real possiblity)] could be up in the $5 range (2025). The thing is, by then you'll be selling your copper for Ameros or possibly globos.

Good old copper hit a 3 month high today. Maybe it didn't get the word about the 4 year drop yet.
