hi everyone, I'm new here and first heard about sorting pennies when I read Peter SChiff's crash proof. Excellent book by the way. I'm like to know people's experience with Rydale sorting machines, If anyone has found coin shops to buy pre 82 pennies above face value. And people's success with selling online. Has anyone had luck with bartering for silver? All responses are greatly appreciated.

I think too much Kool-Aid is what got us to this horrific point in history!
I'd worry if I were you - but then do something about it. Dollar-cost-average into silver (whatever form suits you - I like 90% halves) and copper (via 95% Cu cents). Nothing like a hard asset to calm your worries. Then just keep reading the news here and stay aware of what's going on! Good luck! |

I have been doing things, bought silver at $12.50 an oz, also invested in soft commodities. I'd like to know about Rydale sorting machines, and people's experience with trading and selling.
Thank's Mayhem1226 |

The Ryedale works great for the small time collector...as far as trading, I've only had experince buying sorted cents, they are cheap, yet. |

Gold bugs have been predicting a dollar collapse ever since we went off the Brenton-Woods standard in the early 1970's. It hasn't happened yet... but with $220 TRILLION in unfunded commitments to "we the people", that day draws ever closer.
I have a brother who just borrowed $500,000 for a house and he is going to borrow more to add-on. In this economy... that is just nuts! He is betting the worst is over. I am betting the worst is still to come... but no one really knows what is going to happen.
"The trouble with socialism is, eventually you run out of other peoples' money." Margaret Thacher. The Euro-zone has shown us you can't run deficits forever. Eventually you have to pay off debt. European countries are finally taking austerity measures to reduce the red ink. The USA may learn that lesson too little, too late.
Prepare for the worst and work towards the best. Make sound decisions that will benefit you no matter what the economy does. It is do-able.
Even if there is a collapse, one day the collapse will be over and the economy will become robust again. Russia did that very thing. The Soviet Union collapsed in 1990 and today Russia's growth is kicking our ass. They are still finding undeveloped resources in Siberia. We don't have that. It has taken Russia two decades to regrow their economy from utter ruin.
Good luck! |

Thank you Sheikh Yer Butay, another sound investment would be heirloom seeds. I read an article where in the great depression seed's for food producing plant's were worth their weight in Gold. Don't know if anyone has heard about senate bill s 510 here in the US. It's clearly a genocide bill by big agria, mainly Monsanto. |

Mayhem1226 Please provide a link to the heirloom seed article. I would like to read it. No, I have not read S-510. I will have to look that one up.
Spend some time reading up on the "old timers" comments here. Some have quit their day jobs and now deal in coins and PMs for a living full time. They all swear by the Ryedale. You can learn a lot from this site. |

I agree the worst is yet to come. And I just borrowed $200k to build a house. Maybe faulty reasoning, but here it is: First, the interest rates are low right now. I've got a pretty secure job with the federal gubbment, so more than likely a steady paycheck to cover the mortgage. Second, as the dollar falls, more of them will be required to buy the same house. So I spend 200k now or 400k after the dollar halves in value. I guess essentially I want to lock in today's price and today's rates. I know there are valid arguments against my position and my actions, but if I sit around waiting for TS to hit TF, I might be waiting a day or a decade. |

I also believe the worst is yet to come. When the tax bill comes in in another year or so, the drain on the economy will be staggering, and what we have today will be the "good ole' days". When that deflation kicks in, deficits skyrocket and states go bankrupt. We have helicopter Ben's word he will inflate us out of it.
I hope I'm wrong. |

Not that bad of a strategy if hyperinflation hits and you pay it off with one of your paychecks |
