I'm new here but I'm glad to see so many people that are crazy like me. Atleast thats what people were saying when I started several weeks ago. I buy rolls from the gas station were I work and sort out what the customers bring in as I make change. The first time the manager saw me on the camera sorting through the change, and noticed that all the pennies in the safe had my name on them she was like what the hell. I explained to her what I was doing though and she just laughed. She gets change from the bank weekly.
As long as she is cool with it go for it. Welcome to the site.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams
Welcome. I used to do that at a Clark gas station back in the 90's. It's actually where I found my first Indian. So keep your eyes open!!! You never know what people will bring in to scrape together enough to buy a pack of cigs!
Getting pennies at a bank to sort through is easy enough to do. It's not worth sorting pennies at work if that could jeopardize your job.
Buying the rolls from work with their permission and taking them home to sort is cool, but sorting what is in the til can always leave you open to problems if there is ever a variance. Not worth losing a job over, IMHO.
Do they make change orders to a bank? I used to piggy back on my hourly wage job to avoid the awkwardness of going to a bank on my own. Just a suggestion
Guess you're really having the last laugh now with record copper prices
Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply.
