I bought 3 Canadian dollars ('63, '64, '67) on Saturday at a coin show and paid spot, $18.00 x 0.600 tOZ= $10.80 for ~AU coins. Show was in North Carolina.
Do Canadian dollars not carry a premium like a Morgan or Peace dollar?
Should I be able to find these coins for under spot? For what Grade?
I think these coins are beautiful, and am considering building at least a circulated type set (11 coins total- monarchs and commemoratives), and would really like to do a complete circulated set by year (1935-1967). Anything I need to watch for?
I found this site for reference this week: You must be logged in to see this link. |

Watch your pocketbook.
The 1948 is a minimum $1000 and the 1947 and 1945's are expensive too. |

So I guess i need to ask this...
Key dates excluded, is there any place I can buy bulk 80% dollars for about spot or a small premium?
I could complete a circulated type set without breaking the bank, but a complete year set wouldn't be achievable at spot+. The type set wouldn't include the '47 maple leaf/'48. |
