Saw this one on Ebay, I emailed the seller on how 20 silver war nickels could weigh 3.4 troy ounces. His reply was I put them on a scale and that is what it said, so I guess he was right, but if you do not read it completely or do not know anything about war nickels you would way over pay. Looks like the winning bidder did not so I guess no harm no foul.
You've gotta be careful on ebay. I got stuck once when I bid with twenty seconds remaining on an item I didn't have the full time to read. I had searched gold coins to find listed a 1911 $2.5 gold piece with a picture of same, but further down the description was of a gold-plated V nickel. I refused to pay and went round after round in emails to him and thru arbitration to get the transaction cancelled. Surprisingly, ebay seemed to side with the seller, even tho it seemed clearly fraudulent in intent to me.
