If I know anything of British law he will (only from what I've heard) HE WILL NOT at ALL be able to keep any of them.
Treasure, i believe, is deemed property of the state. IT goes to museums. I'm not even sure if the finder receives any reward other than lip service. |

| I think the finder does get a small percentage of the 'treasure'. Not sure but from reading stories of other finds, I could be wrong though. |

I'm not sure what I would have done in that situation. I would at least have pocketed a few dozen for myself. Although the risk from that is great.
Maybe the best thing to do, given the draconian laws over there, is to hold the artifact hostage - move to another country, offer to sell the collection to the museum in the UK, and threaten to melt it down and sell it for scrap if they try to get the authorities involved. |

Or maybe just dig it up and hold onto it until the laws get better.
(Of course, some scientist will do an analysis and determine that it hasn't been in the ground for many years, and you'll go to jail anyways... you just can't win...) |

| Just saw a report of this tonight on the news. It reported that the treasure hunter and the landowner would split the reward from the find. It didn't say how much that would be, though. It did show the coins. They were in a big...big pottery something. It was partially broke open. It had to be kinda big to hold 52,000 coins. The coins looked like the size between a quarter and the nickel. If you know your roman coins and saw this report then you would know what they were. I'm not an expert. |

| I don't know what they did to clean them, but some of the silver coins from this find were BEAUTIFUL and cool! They must have dipped them or something. |
