As most of you know Congress is considering and will most-likley pass a new financial regulation law this Summer. I've heard speculation that banks might pass on the costs of this new regulation to its customers by, among other things, ending free checking. I could also see them charging fees for buying pennies and dumping coins. Any thoughts?

It is only a matter of time that what was once free will be fee based some how or some way! |

I also heard about banks ending "free checking" and other gimicks to extort more fees from customers. Also heard more disturbing things like the federal reserve will have access to all customer records to review transactions so they can "protect" customers from predatory bank practices. If true, and I don't have any proof,it will surely make me sleep better at night knowing the fed has my back. It's another sham to rob us under the pretense of protecting the american consumer. They dropped the strictest parts concerning hedge funds, and all the "ingenious" ways banks have come up with to repackage their riskiest bets.I'm sure Soros is chomping at the bit to take down the dollar as he has with the pound and other countries currencys. Anytime the fed is involved you know who is getting screwed. When you hear our dear leader talk about redistributing wealth its not to take from the rich to give to the poor, its take from the poor and give to the wealthy.IMO |

It's a bad time for us hoarders. Banks are starting to charge fees. The recession is likely to continue til the end of 2011 thus keeping copper prices down. About the only thing that will be good for us is the threat of deflation. Although deflation is bad for the economy it effectively means the face value of our pennies is worth more now than it was when we purchased. Most economist don't think we will see big deflation here in the US, but all I can tell them is me and most of the people I know earn less per year now than they did 10 years ago. My house is worth about 30% less than it did 4 years ago. Heck the Dow and S&P is lower now than it was 10 years ago. That my friends is deflation. |

All of the above The investments looked good ten to eleven years ago now funds not earning much an stocks are down I may be doing a reverse mortgage to live on if the health care costs go up any more. Would like to help elect new Representatives but who do you help lots of people running but most do not know what the want to accomplish. I found a States rights tax less small farmer that knows his goal he is not my area rep but I'm giving him money as he has a chance an has convinced me he can stay focused for 4 to 6 years. We need to lump all the state Emp benefits an wages an help them decide if the want a little less total an some help or keep their big bucks an have taxpayers hate them.Just doesn't seem that any GOLD COIN is in my future |

The government just can't get enough of our hard earned $$. Banks, banks, banks.
Went to cash in $25 in rolled pennies to BofA and they told me I must have an account. Went to Wells Fargo and had no problem cashing them in. I usually have good success at getting a few penny rolls at Walmarts.
I think every bank must be required to cash in ANY U.S. coin or currency. Inside the BofA and Wells Fargo, you'd think you were in the lobby of some fine hotels based on the furniture, wide screen tv's (yes, both had wide screen tv's) and sofas. These banks are loaded with and some can't cash out your pennies, what a bunch of crap.
O.K, I'm coming off of my soapbox now. just a little tired of thing's these day's. |

Soros should be put in an orange jump suit. You know things are corrupt when he is communicating with BHO. This man can't be allowed to continue ruining economies, it's unbelievable. |

Orange jump suit is too good for him.IMO he isn't communicating with BHO he is ordering him. It's not so unbeliveable once you start to understand they both hate American ideals and are welcoming its demise so the UN or some worldwide system can dictate to us what we can or cannot do.Its commie 101,destroy the family, finacial chaos, all done from within,no need for violence. |
