I started the fight when I was 16, against the Viet Nam war (police action) and the draft. I kept up the fight 'till a year after my son was born. He is 10 now, I'm 53. I've done all the things I'm going to suggest you can do below. For me, the fight is over. I'm in Self-preservation mode now and well into the process of unloading property and debit to make the move out. Assets are also well into the process of being moved "offshore".
Next year at this time (if we get there and the TSHTF hasn't happened yet,) I'll be taking a traveling vacation of six to eight weeks to possible locations picked in Central, South America and the Caribbean to get a better feel of the final destination. Within another year, the plan is to take my family to the location picked and see if it is truly the right place to live. Someting like a two month trial offer. This leaving open the possibility of it not being the final destination.
The PMs accumulated will be sold on a peak prior to leaving, and rebought on the dips as I am doing now after the move. This way, I won't have to worry about taking them with me. Colored diamonds also come to mind as their purchase and sale are still unreported. Colored diamonds might be the better way to transport wealth personally. Also, look into international courier services.
The cost of living at these locations is 40 to 60% lower than in the united states. Many have sizable populations of english speaking expats already. Most have excellent medical doctors, medical facilities, medical programs, and infrastructure. Many also have great perks for those who are "retireing" there. Panama's & Guatemala's Pensionado Programs are examples.
If you plan on staying, you will need to do more than vote and get out the vote. I suggest running for office your self and have everyone that thinks in ways similar to your self to do the same. Start your organizing/organizaton at the local grass roots level to gain experience and followers and move up the political ladder to gain more power for your platform/agenda/movement. I offer you good luck in your efforts and hope you gain the resources in organization/people/money to be successful. You'll need lots of these. Oh, and you will also need the time to make it happen. The one thing IMHO that you don't have enough of.

Relocation "offshore" is definitely a viable solution for a lot of people but too few seriously look at it. Being a citizen of any country comes with some privileges (right to vote, right of abode) but it comes with a whole raft of obligations including paying various taxes, possible military draft, no ability to leave if government will not give you a passport, responsibility to report offshore investments and many other obligations.
Frankly, the idea of being a perpetual tourist/traveler is pretty appealing. Countries treat guests MUCH better than they treat citizens so long as the guest is not braking serious laws. No income taxes, no military service, no financial reporting etc. Getting the right to live somewhere nice is pretty easy, especially if the stay is somewhat temporary.
It is financially rewarding too. Even if you can't completely retire, so long as you can take your job or business with you than it is really possible to enjoy a great lifestyle on a fraction of what the typical American makes. |

Back in the 90s I lived on sailboats for 8 years, and I sailed from California to Australia. I did most of the work to maintain the boats myself.
When your boat needs to be hauled out to paint the bottom, you detach and drop the multi-ton lead keel. Then carve out a niche in the top of the lead keel to fit a few well-sealed monster boxes of gold and/or silver. Fill the voids in the niche with good sealant, and bolt the keel back on the sailboat.
No Customs office or pirate on Earth will find your hoard stashed like that.
When you arrive at your "political paradise", haul out the boat, drop the keel, recover the boxes, fill the niche with molten lead, and put the keel back on the boat.

Make a leather brigandine, but make it short enough to be worn under a jacket and substitute the steel plates with silver or gold.

If you leave because your family is above everything else and you want the best life for them, I respect that. But people who leave just because they personally want to avoid conflict I hold some contempt for . I mean what if Ron Paul, instead of running for President, had just been like "screw it, the country is doomed so I'll just go retire and die peacefully in Argentina." As Ronald Reagan said, we are the last best hope on earth. |

Hey John Brickner,
Yeah, friends have tried to get me to run for office. No can do. Some people have a few skeletons in their closets... hell, I have a whole graveyard! I will just have to support the likes of Ron Paul.
Everything we need (liberty) is already in place in this country It is currently being laminated over by professional politicians of both parties. Maybe we will have to go thru something like Russia did at the fall of the USSR before people wake up and remember what they have lost.
I used to support many missionaries in other countries. Every one in South American countries, India, and two countries in Africa, all say the same thing. The government can take anything they want from you. But forget the gov. it's the locals you really have to look out for. Two missionaries in Africa (Uganda and Nigeria) were robbed by the help of their own armed guards. One was killed. Another in Columbia told me of his neighbor whose steel gates were cut away while riflemen provided cover for the men with the cutting torch. His best defense was to live as the poor pauper that he is. That way he has nothing to steal, so, they leave him alone.
To be totally free of the long arm of the IRS, you will have to renounce your US citizenship and pay a large fine for doing so.
Good luck on your travels. |
