Long story short; Yuan appreciates 3% this year against the dollar.
That means inflation to us; minimum 3%

My comment;
that word itself speaks of lower imports thereby strengthening the dollar. Dollar was up today....
I think nobody knows quite what to do, and I mean the "pro"s.

I'm starting to real ALL headlines with a grain of salt. No one knows the cause and effect of anything in economic circles, I feel like they are guessing just to write articles. Anything that happens simultaneously can be coincidence... it doesn't mean that one caused the other. Maybe... but who knows for sure? All I know is that, long term, precious metals will be many, many, many multiples of where they are now. That may be as soon as a year away, could be five. Silver is not dependent on hyperinflation to show remarkable gains, gold is. So... yuan revaluation? Yawn. Yes, folks, things will get more expensive as inflation works it's way into the economy. We all knew that. Spent $10 last night and all I got was five bananas, some grapes, six small peaches, five nectarines, and five plums. I guess it's time to lose weight

Hoard now and hold on!

Fresh fruit is always expensive. Heck grapes run $4-5 a pound around here and it doesnt take much to make a pound. We just try to do a mix of canned and fresh. But yes, inflation is creeping into consumer prices. Used to feed a family of four for under $100 a week. Now even with coupons and all the buy one get one free offers we are running around $160. But I always slip in something to set off the the side for a rainy day...

The only store we have here is WalMart, and there are no buy one get one free.
no coupons.
you pay full price for everything.
when you do get a sale paper everything is marked higher than the normal price, and then the sale price is still full price.

most of the shelves are empty by 8:00 PM you have to be there between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM to get anything.
they restock at night.

wish we could get some stores to compete with WalMart.
this WalMart is a test store, it was built for that reason.

anyone know where to order large quantities of food at a good price?
I would like to place an order about once a month.
if you know of any wholesale places on line, please post the link to them, and if you have ordered from them.
there was a post here somewhere about LDS. not sure where.

THANKS GUYS

On the West Coast we have Winco as a low price full service store an they do thump both Safeway an Albertsons for price out the door.

I dislike Safeway an others who need to save all your purchases in their computer. They will be first in Line to tell Big Daddy O about all our poor choices in what we buy. then they will ration health care to the GOOD consumers that buy the drugs to keep us HAPPY!!
