Correct me if I'm wrong, but these "emerging technologies" are only emerging on the scene because of the sort of government spending/subsidy that got the EU into this crisis in the first place.
Governments have simply run out of other countries to borrow money from in order to artificially reduce the price of alternative energy sources so that citizens will buy them.
