It's a good time to buy OIL anyway.  Prices are down 20%. Be careful if you use commodity ETFs. USO uses front month futures contracts, while DBO and DBC use mid-range futures contracts. There will be some rollover costs as your ETF will turn over their futures contracts when they near the expiration date (they never take delivery) as oil is in contango. An easier way would be to buy stock equities, individual oil stocks or equity ETFs. |

North Korea popped a nuke...and nobody cared.

To keep it simple - BUY the refiners via the XLE ETF. For a pure play commodity ETF that invests in WTI crude futures, BUY DBO. Most of the big name OIL and energy stocks have been taken out to the woodshed - I'll let others chime in on their favorite individual stock ideas.  |
