Yikes, sorry to hear it. What do you think caused it not to do well?

Don't be so hard on yourself. While it has been nearly 30 years since copper pennies were last minted, the investing side of copper pennies for only the copper contained in them is just beginning now. It's sort of like when 90% SILVER was removed from circulation in the 1960's; however, progress has been slower because the general public does not recognize the value in them - YET. I don't know what the catalyst will be to make penny investing take off like 90% SILVER investing. It might be that the mint will stop making pennies. Certainly, if the mint decided to change the metal from copper-coated zincs to something like steel, then we might have some action. If the melt ban was lifted, then we might have some action. Or, if the dollar collapsed one day, then we WOULD have some action. Whatever it is, that event is coming. We just don't know when or why. While this doesn't help you much right now, it is my belief that now is a time to accumulate coppers, rather than sell them, in anticipation of the BIG EVENT.

The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.

I agree with Country, if you can afford to sort and hold onto them, do so. I firmly believe it will pay off in the long run!

Just as silver and gold are touted to preserve your purchasing power in the event of hyperinflation, copper and nickel will do the same in the event of a currency devaluation... which we are close to having happen. If the govt decides to adopt a new currency, and ten old bills will equal one new one... your currency would lose 90% of it's value, while your coins would maintain their fractional value in the form of the new currency. They wouldn't "gain" ten times in value, but they would maintain their original purchasing power, so you would be way ahead... either waiting for a gain in value due to inflation, or a virtual preservation of purchasing power in the event of revaluation... if you choose now to store your wealth in the form of coins, whether base or precious.

Hoard now and hold on!

i'm buying all i can at 1.3x shipped. if you try, you can get more.

i think the penny will be completely discontinued within a couple of years, and the melt ban lifted. once the melt ban is lifted, they should trade for close to spot.

Buying:
Peace/Morgan G+ at $15.00
copper cents at 1.3X
wheat pennies at 3X
