Approximately how many pennies fit into a standard 50 cal ammo can? What about a 30 cal ammo can? Do you know what a full 50 cal and 30 cal will weigh full of pennies?

when i first started hoarding i stored in .50 cal ammo cans.

if i remember right 100 rolls stood on end just perfectly in the bottom half of the can. i then stacked another hundred rolls on end on top of those.

then there is room on top for 15 or so rolls layed down, but i stopped at $100 just to easily keep track.

i only filled a couple with pennies - now i store my copper in the bank boxes.

i need all the cans i can get for ammo !

30 cal can fit $50 in pennies loose or rolled.

That's a pretty good idea too. I'm using the 50 cals for now. I store them loose because I don't have a better solution for now.

The 3 liter bottles look kinda cool all stacked up but it is probably not a good idea for long term storage. The plastic degrades over time and interacts with the copper.

I like the .30 cal ammo cans. 100 rolls fit perfectly.

Do you know the weight of that? Or if more or less would fit in loose?

100 rolls is about 34 pounds isn't it? Plus the weight of the ammo can?
