The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.

the bailout was not of Greece per se but really of French, Germain, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, and British banks.

nice job posting that lemonthrower.

I saw that a few days ago and showed my girlfriend. Visuals like that help those who don't follow the market minute by minute understand the gravity of the situation. That it really is a "circle-jerk"

Am I off in this reading of the chart or is Germany sitting pretty? I keep coming across articles that seem to put Germany in a positive position.

Can anyone substantiate this or refute?

"It is the nature of the human species to reject what is true but unpleasant and to embrace what is obviously false but comforting"

" The average man doesn't want to be free. He wants to be safe."

i wouldnt assume germany is sitting good. this chart does not purport to address germany.

eu banks generally are in worse case than us because they have not fessed up to these sorts of losses. the greece collapse is causing the recognition of those losses. and theres a chain reaction. a spanish bank holding greek bonds might have just written down billions. now, a german bank that owns stock of that spanish bank will now recognize a price change.
