I found a bunch in the last box that I searched. Just wondering if they hold any value or if they're just more of a collectors item?

I keep all I find. These circulated proofs just have value to collectors using them to complete Kennedy sets. There are 90% proofs that are occasionally found too.

Cool. I found a 1964 that was in great condition. It looked like all the other proofs (that mirror finish)...is there anyway to know if it's a proof or just in really good condition? It does not have an S mint mark on it.

S-Mint proofs were minted from 1968 onwards. Proofs minted 1964 and before did not have a mintmark as they were customarily minted in Philadelphia. It's the mirror-like finish that is the hallmark of the 1964 and earlier proofs. In addition, know that proof coins were specially struck with extra striking force on the polished proof blank so that coin details all showed sharp and clear. Also, note that because of the special striking rims on proof coins are slightly thicker. Sometimes early strikes will look proof-like, but they will not have the detailed sharpness of a proof strike.

I keep all I find. I got a few in a couple rolls I've done. I also got a roll and a half of UNC 2005 and 2006 of both mints. These are worth a small premium to collectors as well.

Are you throwing that out?
