Just spoke to a friend today who advised that he found a guy at work who is a metalsmith on the side. Supposedly the metalsmith can get silver at a dealer price, I suppose below spot. He stated that he can make whatever including ingots. I know this is rather vague in that I do not know how much he will charge to make the ingots and what exactly his dealer price is however was wondering from you all if this sounds like an opportunity? Basic silver ingots without markings, is there a market for them? I am considering him making me some, however if I were to get rid of them down the road didn't know if I could get out of them what I put in. Thanks in advance! :)

| You bet. Not talking to the guy myself, I wonder if something was lost in translation during the conversation. I plan to do some investigating on this. Sounds too good to be true. Not being a pessimist just a realist. |

Some guy said the same thing to me this weekend as he saw me selling to another individual.
Call him on it! I'm with Nicklemiester. I'll buy all he's got... at spot!
Edit to add: Raw, unmarked ingots? Probably not a good idea....
unless you know whose asX to kick when they come up dud. |

| I would make sure too that he is talking about .999 silver. I can see how it might be easy it get scrap sterling silver (.950) below spot and melt it into bars. Pure silver is a lot harder to come by. |
