I've been thinking about adding some exotic metals to my collection, and I came across this website. You must be logged in to see this link. (in particular You must be logged in to see this link.) Does anyone have any experience dealing with this company or any similar companies?
The prices seem a bit high, but where else are you going to find Yttrium or Hafnium? I'm sure there are mining companies I could invest in that deal with these metals, but actually having them in my hand has a "cool factor" I can't get from stocks.
Does anyone here have any exotic metals?
And who in the world buys such metals if I ever decide to sell?

| there lies the problem. sure theyre neat to have but will they ever become more expensive and how do you find somewhere to part with them? also how do you know if the prices are high or low if theres not a widely established market? |

I'm very interested in these metals simply because I like metals, but uh..yeah...you pretty much nailed the problem.
And since we're on the topic of rare and exotic metals, where do people sell metals that do have a well-established market, but aren't coin metals and don't have a ticker on Bloomberg or CNBC---metals like iridium, rhodium, and ruthenium?

Look into You must be logged in to see this link. this might be worng site, theodore gray googled should get you to the right place. He is the tops metal collection. I believe he has built a wooden periodical coffee table, and has a physical specimen for each element. He seems pretty cool and I am sure he would know of this company you inquire of.

| I've spent the last two days reading everything I can get my hands on about every other metal out there. Tellurium, tantalum, tungsten, niobium, manganese, rhenium, germanium, gallium, vanadium, cadmium, et al. There is so much hearsay and rumor about these metals as investments, I'm going a little crazy---can't make heads or tails of anything. Most of my interest is from a chemistry standpoint, but uhh...this stuff gets deep. I'm still determined to add some exotic stuff to my stash, but this will take more research than I planned! The biggest obstacle I see is finding a place that will sell me some of these metals on the cheap. If any more comes of this, I'll let you all know. |
