Ordered a meal from KFC for the family tonight, and in my return change was a 1948D Silver Dime, a 1939 Lincoln Wheat Penny and a 1965 Memorial Penny that looked so new I thought it was zinc. The only way I can explain such luck was maybe an old timer earlier in the day broke his/her piggy bank and returned to circulation this nice surprise. Maybe I should play the lottery tonight. From Ocean County NJ. Hope the rest of you have such luck.

I think I'd be tempted to eat there a few more times this week and see what turns up:)

I think those employees would wonder how many chicken orders I could stomach considering the amount of times I'd go back to that KFC if I received that good change. Lucky!

"Hi, I'd like twenty orders of the $2 tuesday special please. Can you bill those separately, and give me change in dimes and pennies please? thanks."

...assuming you have sales taxes where you live...sigh

metal is a claim on future human labour. let's all go get some while the getting is good, eh?

Well not just dimes and pennies. I'm sure you'd have luck with whatever other coins like quarters and nickels they have. Just say, "I'd like the chicken special with fries, a coke, the cash register, and a side of potato salad."
You don't have sales tax where you are? Wow. Here in Texas, the sales tax is high, probably makes up since we have no state income tax.

I ate at KFC last week and got two $1 star notes in my change. Both in crisp condition and the serial numbers were only two numbers apart. Bad news is I didn't notice until I got back to my office, otherwise I would have asked for change for a $5.

it was Original Recipe, Thogey. I listened to you all and did go back today just to order something on the cheap...but had no such luck. A state quarter, a nickel and a few zinc pennies (and some indigestion). It got me to thinking though, I guess most of us would be dangerous employees at a fast food place. We'd spend more time checking the coins than the green bills.
