This is the size of a half dollar. Found it in a box of halves. Anyone here know who made and sold them?

Here I was hoping you found a coin that they gave out at the dedication of the statue and it was worth a few thousand dollars!! |

No way, the dedication was in the 1800's? this coin is clearly from the later 1900's.
Wow, LIberty's skin/clothing is only 3/32 of an inch thick?
I would have thought she had tougher skin than that? No wonder liberty is taking such a beating in recent years!!!
Seriously though, I would have guessed a 1/4 inch of copper at least!! |

Yours is different than ebay one,
yours has a 'banner' for engraving on the bottom of the statue of liberty. |

3/32in.thick, the same as the thickness of two pennies put together ....that's enough. I wish I had a copper roof with even the thickness of one copper cent. |

You do have to think about weight of the copper, though, and how much the internal frame can support comfortably. The skin thickness is probably a good balance between durability and stress tolerances. |

It is more than twice the thickness of the skin on an airliner. |
