Silver is again under $16 per oz. When do you think that we will see a rebound in silver and a decline in the US dollar?

It all depends on the tug or war going on between the market manipulators and the huge demand in silver right now. I think the market will be extremely volatile for the short term, I expect to see more effort by TPTB to hold down prices at the same time as demand for silver increases. Daily swings of 10% or more in both directions are possible.

If you look at the 30 day silver, it is trending that way. It should hit $17 in the next 2 weeks. This is just a guess.

I think (and am really hoping) we'll see sub-$15/oz. before we go back to $18 again. This is also a wild a$$ guess.

I'm right with you on that thought. If the market collapses I will buy till it hurts.

I don't want to buy till it hurts, but I do hope I will be in the position to buy if it drops to $14 again.

Velocity of money matters as much as total volume when you are talking about inflationary pressure. And also, a lot of the money supply is tied up in debt instruments, many of which are being destroyed through default or devaluation of the collateral (such as homes). I am not a deflationist, but I think there is not reason why the US Dollar won't strengthen in the short term, while economic transactions (velocity) are low and debt destruction is high.

People keep talking about tightness in the physical market, but I don't see or feel it in the coin shops. They all seem to be reasonably stocked and US junk is not selling at a premium most places.

Not selling at a premium here, but my local shop said that they have sold 5 times their yearly silver and gold coins in the last 5 months.

I think the falling euro is making the dollar look better right now.

I can't promise this will hold true, but as a historic rule as late spring or summer approaches silver takes a big seasonal drop. I haven't ever been given a real logical reason for it, but it has been true. Every year people say it won't happen and maybe this year they will be right. But if I were waiting for a drop before buying then I would hold out for a month or two more.

Marine 70, If you are thinking long term then buy what you can afford, as often as you can. I would buy 90% at 12X face value, and .999 silver bars/rounds within a dollar of spot price. If you don't sort coins for silver, start so you can bring your cost per ounce down.

I couldn't wait for the drop.. had to buy some today because the price was right. Picked up a lot of 90% at 11.7x and even got a George Washington commemorative half at 8x.. $4!

So expect silver to take a big dip tomorrow since I bought some.. and be ready to buy.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

when people refer to shortness in the physical market they mean for 1,000 oz bars to settle comex futures obligations, not coinshops. they are related, however, tenusously, because those 1000 oz bars get melted into blanks that Treasury uses to stamp out ASE's.

i think they are going to take the price down one more time but it will finish the year over $20

Buying:
Peace/Morgan G+ at $15.00
copper cents at 1.3X
wheat pennies at 3X

The financial mess in Europe continues to make the U.S. dollar look attractive to many. This all has a long way to play out in this Abbott and Costello "Who's on first?" international financial collapse routine.
