Hello,
I'm new here.
I'd like all y'all's opinions on long term storage of copper cents.
One idea is mason jars inside of a sealed 5 gallon bucket with a few packs of cat litter wrapped in coffee filters thrown in the bucket to keep humidity under control. Also I was wondering if the priority mail tyvek envelopes would be good for long term storage of loose cents.
Thanks,

It all depends on exactly what type of coins are you refering to. If just ordinary, common date coins, just put them in a jar and close the lid. No need to do anything else. No additional air can get in if the lid is tight. Now if the coins are of any value, it is best to place each one in those 2x2, cardboard flips. If not, then in one of those plastic rolls. Or you could just put them in a zip lock plastic bag, push out as much air as possible. You idea of cat litter is practical for a short period of time but as the stuff absorbs moisture it would have to be replaced or would add to the problem your trying to avoid.
