Bought bullion coins at melt spot
$5 1976 Olympiad XXI told it was .77 % silver.

$5 1976 Olympiad XXI told it was .72 % silver which is correct?

also three $1 1958 1965 1966 .6 OZ

also two Mexico 25 pesos 1968 OLIMPIADA XIX

Those $5 Canadians are sterling (.925). They have an ASW of .7227 T. Oz. Was somebody getting the fineness confused with the ASW? What did you end up paying for these 2 coins?

I like these coins. The ratio of FV to ASW is even better than a ML, which is 5 times better than an ASE. Nice back stop if Ag should go through the floor (they are legal tender).

I paid $11.94 for the first which was too much! spot was $15.50
Paid $11.00 for Second spot 15.25

Found the Dollars on CDN melt chart they are OK, But you are correct the The $5 are closer on value

The $5 are in coin holders but the Sterling must be the reason they are so BRIGHT as the one holder has cracks but coin still bright.

Perhaps technically, but try spending one at the grocery store. Even banks were refusing to accept these coins at face value (at least that was, before silver appreciated).
