My grandmother gave these to me when I was a kid. They are original BofA paper rolls the coins on the end appear to be in BU. Yes I've had them for 35 years. 1967 X2, 1969s 74d and 75d.
How would you treat them if you were going to sell them. Should I open them or what?

| I would not open them , let the buyer make that decision. You will lose potential buyers if you remove them from the original wrapper. IMO |

| As unlikely as it would be, I would just have to know what was in the 69s roll. If you find a DDO in there, I think you'll be happy you opened it. The others I wouldn't touch, but thats just me. |

| What do you guys think somthing like this would be worth, and what kind of hit would I take if I opened the 69s roll. |

| I believe the hit would be pretty substantial, but the loss of not finding the DD would be costly too. This is a decision you have to make on your own. I think if you just want to make a quick profit off them you are better to leave them unopened, but if you are looking for collection coins and are willing to spend the money if you find them, you could open them and get them certified. This would take some investment and a little gambling on your part but you could probably recoup your cost and a little extra. However If you want to sell or trading for something else I would list them on this site and see what you can get for them. I know there are a few of us that would be interested in BU S mint coins. |

Uh, I saw this thread earlier today, but my account had a little issue. I was just DYING to respond to this one. Personally, I would leave the rolls the way they are now. They are in an original bank roll from way back then, and that adds to their value. The chance of getting a DD is very low, and I don't think you'd have to worry about that. Still, it is your choice what you want to do with them. Make the wise choice, whatever you think it is! Kirkland |

seriously though, if you have the equipment to care for them without touching them or getting oils on them, etc, and you have good tubes you can put them into, that is fine....
But some people pay crazy premiums for "unopened rolls" |

I belive they may have been opened. The two 67 and one 69s rolls are loose on one end.
She (my long departed grandma Jean) may have opened them, maybe to check the first few coins.
Should I just hoard them? Man I've been carrying these things with me my whole life. Do I really want them...no. I can't look at the coins cause they're rolled. I don't know what's in them. Her writing is still on the rolls. It's a tough decision because I don't know what they're worth. I have zero emotional attachment to them.

Not sure about a CRAZY premium, but I would love to have an original bank roll from my birth year, 1974. And I would have to think long and hard about opening the 1969S roll. If you did, you would need to do it wearing cotton gloves and encapsulate some/all of them. I personally think I would open it! Not saying that is what I would advise anyone else to do... What do you think about putting them up for a pack the forum auction? Whatever you do, you gotta let us know! |

| Others here have way more experience than I, but I'd sit on them. The value won't decrease over time. |

| At least one of those rolls that hobo linked to is rewrapped. I only looked at one, because at first glance the roll looked too new to be original, and upon closer inspection, it was obvious, at least to me, that it was not an original roll. Ugh. |

| I agree. Mine are original, but like I mentioned above, one end looks loose. I don't think I would advertise as possible DDO. That's begging for negative feedback. But did you see the final sale? 24 and change. |
