| Under what circumstances would anyone in government even CONSIDER doing something like this? And other than kicking inflation through the roof and eroding confidence in the dollar, what other impact would this have? |

I think when you look at the history of Fort Knox it is very clear that the gold is not there, if it ever was.
My business must account for each and everything we have, or use, or buy or sell each year.
The government has never shown what is really at Fort Knox. Yes, there have been a few publicity stunts, but that is it.
I have lived down wind after the open air testing of the A-bomb, when the government told us there was nothing to fear. There are so many instances that we all can show that unless the government must show what is going on then we can not trust them.
I have heard some Army folks state that they have seen the gold and that it is there. I trust most of OUR military folks, but I don't know that they were shown enough to really know what they have seen.
Sorry, I don't trust Uncle Sam.
