"The euro, already under pressure, came under renewed attack Monday as a French bank speculated that the currency union would inevitably collapse.

"Meanwhile, a former chief economist of the European Central Bank warned that a bailout for member country Greece could damage the euro's credibility."

That's not a dollar, mate...THIS is a dollar.

No matter which world banking system fails they will be able to recover faster that what the US could ever do by working in concert and exporting to the US and the rest of the world. I feel that Germany will be one of the first ones to recover because they have the mojo to do so...Japan will rest for a while but wont fall asleep, the only thing that could mess up the Rising Sun economy really bad would be not been able to import the raw material to recover.

Remember that Japan in the "Ero Era" did just fine while having no contact with the rest of the world for four or five hundred years.

The situation in the US will be the worse one of them all, not only in the economy but also for the civil unrest that we will be having......I suspect that there will be a separation of the government and the military with the government traying to do something withing the US while the military will be occupied fighting foreing wars of liberation and stopping foreign invaders from reaching our shores......and that's where the mercs will be coming into the picture here in the US.

The food situation will be bad.....so bad that there will be riots and killing and the convoys of trucks transporting food will be under military guard, there will be food ration books .....far fetch? I don't think so because I saw in Cuba for a while........at first the trains would be the way to go but they are easier to blow off the tracks so that trucks will be it.

Having a small economy pick up would be the thing to have in order to transport small ammout of stuff from one place to another and make what will pass for "money".

Electricity will be rationed where at first there will be no power between eleven pa and six am and from there on anything is possible......large cities will have most of the power but outside of small towns (like I am) will suffer. Water pumps for the cities will not operate without power so that if you have a creek or even a large flowing river you will be lucky... keep your powder dry.

If the Euro collapses, do you think people will flee to the dollar? That could really depress gold and silver prices temporarily, I would think.
