One of the banks in my area failed on January 29, and a few others are in trouble. Fortunately, the bank I use is OK for now.

Or watch the carnage on the FDIC site. I gave up on running "guess where the next bank will fail" contests over 200 failures ago because I realized I could not afford it anymore.

I really liked that contest.. even though I never won. I was always a week to early.. even though I called the exact bank. Had the trifecta.. but the timing was slightly off.. dang Feds were too slow to close those banks. I coulda been a contenda...

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I also missed that contest. I was thinking about that contest the other day when some banks close in Minn.

You could start it up again, no prizes, just bragging rights for a week.

I looked up some of the banks in my area. Most were one star, but one small bank is a four star. I mentioned to a coworker about her bank's low rating but she only replied, "My bank hasn't ever been a problem to me." Not yet, honey.

Did she preface her reply with: "Baaaaaah, baaaaah". (One "a" removed from the baaaaah's due to inflation).

No, but she did mention that they put most of their savings into an online bank because it offered them a lot better rate of return than the local banks. I bet it did. But at what risk? This FDIC insurance scam has people convinced it doesn't matter what bank they put their money into........just as long as it is FDIC insured.

But wait until the banks start to drop like flies on to $hit and the FDIC goes under. Who then will bail her and her husband out? Tiny Tim? Maybe, with pennies on the dollar and a month at a time.

Is ok to have a bank, after all, you must pay some bills by check and your credit card comes from a bank........so, keep in the bank only what your needs are form month to month and nothing more......like I do.

I for one don't have that much in my bank so that I don't care if it fails......it only would give me a reason to raise some hell.

We had a bank fail in this area. It was front page local news that the FDIC had ordered the bank to get more liquidity soon. Friday the FDIC moved in.

The nice part is people who knew what it meant had a few days to move thier cash, unless they trusted the FED, and we saw the outcome of that.

Silver Monometalism is the most permanent and stable form of money the world has seen. Natural law and history prove silver value is best multiplied by gold and best divided by copper. It is only in this counterfeit currency time when the natural law appears suspended.

Wouldn't it be nice if the bank failed where your credit card, mortgage, etc was originated then it would wipe out all of your debt?

Two more banks have failed in northern Georgia. One is in a nearby town.
