I wish they were available. I have not been able to find a bank that would get them for me yet. If you keep asking different banks and branches you may find one.
One bank ordered the regular golden dollar coins for me when i asked for large 'ike' dollar coins. I didn't even want them, but i felt bad for the head teller that had ordered them.

i tried at suntrust. you end up getting the new dollars or SBA's.

I have seen the results at a bank where they do order them on occasion. Other people have ordered them and they offer me a few from the bag. I get to see all of them and no silver shows. (This is because I have been known to bribe these tellers sharing state quarters and '09 pennies)
My bank recently told me all the IKEs get sent to the FED daily. So I asked if they get sent can we order them. They tried but were denied. At least that is what they told me.

Well with the current agenda to push or 'circulate' the golden dollar coins. I can't see why the fed would want to bring back ike's. They are huge and people wouldn't know what to do with them. I would think there would be lots of silver in those bags to find. But realistically they are probably just ike in the non-silver strike... I've asked my usual pick-up banks and none have had an ike in over 3 months.
