I ran across 20 Genuine US Mint Cent Bags from the 70's on up at a garage sale. Guy was using them to store fishing reels in them.
Once I get them cleaned, i'm thinking of transferring some of my cent hoard from the .30 cal Ammo can's i've been using to store them into the bags. I just need to know how to sew them up.
Anyone know if I can use a standard sewing machine to sew them back up so they don't spill out? What sort of thread to use? Where to get them?
Or you can use the proper bag seals as used by the banks. The are heavy duty with metal parts that have teeth for gripping.. and a lead seal. You could also get the Red tags to run the seal through for proper identification. Very aesthetically pleasing.
