Thought I'd repost this, since I didn't get much response, and getthe first post on this sub-forum.


Looking through a foriegn coin lot my aunt gave me today I found a
1918 deutsches reich 1/2 mark-f coin.
My grade is au-57.

Does anyone know how valuabe this is?

According to my 2010 telephone book it cats for $20. Lower grade examples cat for $3. Of course you know, things don't really trade for catelog value. Mintage was 4,010,000. So if everybody in China wanted one...

Also, foreign coins don't generally grade by the American 70-point system. Mainly people just say Good, Fine, Very Fine, Extremely Fine, Uncirculated (or proof, as the case may be).

Alright, I'm guessing it is extremely fine then, or about uncirculated if it was American.
